Message-ID: <81616D47-18EB-4628-8A6B-BE270A1D5581@spvi.com> Hi Guys, It looks like my Dad's memorial service is going to be later, probably the afternoon of the Friday after Thanksgiving. There will be a short burial service on this Tuesday afternoon at 1:00, but it's going to be small, mostly family, though it's not exclusive. It would be nice if Airemale could sing at the memorial service. It might be easier then, though I know holiday are also bad sometimes. FYI, here's the obituary I just sent to the paper: Emit Monroe Spicklemire, 82, passed away on the evening of Nov. 13 in Indianapolis. He was born there on Christmas Day 1926 to Keneth and Naomi Spicklemire. Emit served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Air National Guard afterward. He attended Arsenal Technical High School and graduated from Ivy Tech with a degree in electronics technology. He worked for Detroit Diesel Allison and then spent more than 30 years at the east-side RCA plant. He married his loving spouse, Patricia Ann (Hanley), in 1950 and was a wonderful husband and father. Emit was an active member of the 4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus, a longtime usher at Little Flower Catholic Church, a Boy Scout leader, and a member of Travelers Protective Association. He greatly enjoyed travel and outdoor activities. He also loved golf, excellent food, chocolate shakes, Oreo cookies, and a little ice in his coffee. Emit is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia; his sons, Kenneth (Melody Drake), Gerald (Mitra Akhavan), and Stephen (Tawn Parent); his grandchildren, Samara Carter and Brian, Zachary, Emily, Leila, Kathryn, Clay and Ruby Spicklemire; and his sister, Aline Booth. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Washington Park East at 10612 E. Washington St. A memorial service is being planned for a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
