To use it, you put a token representing the nutrient/nutrients on the tray along with the foods. Then, the display client can either emphasize information about the selected nutrients, or display nutrient information only for the nutrients selected. Here is a short description of the feature. This feature adds a "nutrientInfo" section to the message which is sent to the server. It shouldn't affect any of the existing code. The latest version of the food calculator movie is on the server in the custom folder, named "foodUI_2_11a.swf" I'm working on sizing, scaling etc., and I'm still seeing problems with food graphics that don't behave properly --the banana is a good example. Ren, check to see that the graphics fit in a 200x200 flash movie and test them with the swf file I just uploaded. If they are working properly, the graphics should scale to fit into the black box when you drag them there. You can now drag them back out to get rid of them and test additional graphics. --Skip On Tuesday, February 10, 2004, at 11:11 AM, xq bao wrote: > Hi Steve, > > Will you have time on Friday afternoon? Open a second browser window for the Food Calculator. For some reason, the food calculator app is not getting it's data from the server today... Thanks, Bill. Once the name for the method call actually found something, it worked. --not without some other issues, but I think that was the central mystery. We have some other issues that are causing problems with how the graphics are drawn, but I think the connections are working now. I'm sorry I didn't think to let you know about this on Friday. --Skip On Monday, February 23, 2004, at 07:36 AM, Steve Spicklemire wrote: > Hi Folks, > > I think I've found the problem with the swf that wasn't working for > Mary. They have the IDs specified on the spreadsheet so they can be recognized by the food database in Zope. For testing, we have apple, bagel, cheerios, cola, baked potato, McDonalds burger, McDonalds fries, chips, baked Lays chips. I'll bring them along tomorrow so we can try them out. Also, the mysql database on mail has been updated to include the new tags. In most cases, the USDA has the portion size we would like to use. In a few cases, it doesn't. I think we need to add a scalar multiplier to the message which we would apply after extracting the nutrient information from the database using one of the provided portion sizes. For example, USDA has a portion size of 1 sandwich cookie, but the list of 50 foods indicates 4 cookies. So, we would use the 1 cookie size and apply a scalar multiplier of 4. Another example is frozen yogurt. The USDA commonly gives 1/2 C portion sizes (common for ice cream) but the list of 50 calls for a 1C serving. So we would use a multiplier of 2. The multipler needs to be a floating point number to deal with fractional multipliers. It's a little change, but I think it's well worth making, particularly if we want some more flexibility in portion sizes. Any thoughts? Should we plan to go ahead with this change? They are color coded according to what kit they belonged to. In addition to these food models, we have the set of foods purchased for NAHEC. If we can select food models from the attached list, or from the NAHEC foods, demos are easier. The nutrient values in the chart are just those which came on printed cards with the foods. The USDA DB often has multiple entries for the same kind of food. The differences include whether the food is fortified, enriched, cooked, raw, and the like. I found alternate entries for Bagel, Nonfat Milk, Whole Milk, Orange Juice, Chicken drumstick, Pike, and pancakes. I could not find alternate entries for Big Mac and Pancakes w/Butter and Syrup. We could define composite foods for Big Mac and Pancakes w/Butter and Syrup to take care of that. My tags still use the old mappings to the Basic database. I plan to wait and not remap the tags to the USDA full database until we know what foods we're going to use for the demo. Then I'll do them all at once as needed. Please do not remove the Zope database entries that use the basic database for the list of 50. The method getFoodsData can return foods data for the composite foods now. For testing the method, I added the burger meal (foodID:2, foodListID:7). Now if you pass the foodInfo for the burger meal to getFoodsData, you can get the data from the server. See you! Xiaoqiu __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
