Hi Folks,
First.. the full program of the Spring Meeting is now available online:

Second, here's a note from Dan Beeker about the meeting:
Dear Colleague,
Don't forget! The Spring Meeting of the Indiana Section of the
American Association Of Physics Teachers is just a couple of weekends
away. It is happening Friday and Saturday, April 17 and 18 on the IU
Bloomington campus. It only happens once a year. Miss it this year
and you will have to wait 365 days for another one. The meeting is
packed with things to do, almost all relating to physics and physical
science.
Thanks to the generosity of the Physics Department and the Joseph and
Sophia Konopinski endowment we are honored to have Dr. Lawrence
Krauss, Foundation Professor in the School of Earth and Space
Exploration, Arizona State University, lecturer and author of /
Physics of Star Trek/ and /Fear of Physics/ speaking on "Einsteins
Biggest Blunder" in conjunction with the meeting. His talk alone will
make it worth the drive to Bloomington!
Friday evening brings a workshop "Trains and Brains" - (how to mix
play and learning using model trains), a social hour with a Demo
Derby, a great physics Demo Show by the IU Physics Club and, if
weather permits, an Observing session at Kirkwood Observatory.
Saturday brings three tracks of Presentations on Physics and Physics
Teaching* followed by lunch and Dr. Krauss' talk.
We close the meeting with the workshop "Frontiers of Physics".
Physics faculty will talk about how their research is helping to
piece together the unknowns in understanding our natural world. Do
you wonder about dark matter, dark energy, how the LHC can detect the
Higgs Boson or, for that matter, just what is the Higgs boson? Or
perhaps you are wondering what a biophysicist does? The Frontiers in
Physics workshop is the place to find out.
Logistics: Concerned about parking? Don't be. We have a new parking
garage just a block away and parking on nights and weekends is free!
Food? We'll provide pretty much all the eats you will want. But if
you want to venture a few blocks off campus you will find something
for virtually any palate. Need a place to stay and don't have money
for a hotel? Let us know. We'll help you find somewhere affordable.
If you teach Physics or Physical Science this meeting is for you.
Don't think you can make it? Find out what you will be missing by
checking the meeting web page at www.indiana.edu/~hisci <http://
www.indiana.edu/%7Ehisci> for the latest details. Want to know more
about the INAAPT? Then check the INAAPT web page at www.inaapt.org
<http://www.inaapt.org>.
I, along with the membership of the INAAPT and the IU Physics Faculty
are looking forward to seeing you.
