Subject: Passing of Jim Watson

Steve,

Dave Ober suggested that I inform you that Dr. James Watson passed  
away on Wednesday, 12/2/09.  Jim was a faculty member in the  
Department of Physics and Astronomy from 1976-2007.  He has been an  
emeritus faculty member since his retirement.  He was primarily  
responsible for preparing teachers at all levels in physics and the  
physical sciences.  Jim had been suffering from a number of medical  
problems for the past year.  I will be submitting an obituary to  
Physics Today in the near future.
